In most jurisdictions, absolutely! Only play money is used – no real money is used in the games!

2.What are the most popular casino games?

Blackjack is the number one played game by most guests at any event.  However, your guests will move from game to game throughout the event.  Some will try all the games offered at your party while some will stick to what they know best.  Craps is the game with the dice that generates a lot of excitement – as typically everyone “sinks or swims on the tide of the dice” together. Roulette is a fun game that tests your intuition and “lady luck”. Texas Hold’em poker has become amazingly popular in the past several years with so much of it shown on various TV shows.  For variety, we also have other versions of poker games – played on blackjack sized tables and one on one against the dealer – such as Caribbean Stud and Let it Ride.

3. How much equipment do I need?

If the casino is the main/only form of entertainment for your event, you will want to have enough gaming seats from 60-75% of your guests. If you have two forms of entertainment you will want 45-60%.

4. Can we provide our own dealers?

It’s your choice. Most customers use our trained professional dealers because it makes for a more professional event and makes your planning so much easier. However, if you want to use your own volunteers, or Celebrity Dealers as mentioned above,  you are welcome to do so. We will still provide crew for delivery, set up, and takedown.  You can also do a combination of professional dealers and volunteers.

Typically, most are three hours in length, though the range does vary from two and a half hours to four hours. Parties longer than four hours are often too long.

WURTSBORO — Canal Towne Emporium co-owner Gary Holmes stood in his second-floor office Thursday morning and watched Kristen Volpicella’s hands move between the keyboard of the store’s desktop computer and an iPad screen.

Volpicella, the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce’s vice president of recruitment and retention, built a profile for the store’s new Facebook page, uploaded photos and linked the page with Canal Towne’s Twitter account.

“I’m not that computer-savvy,” said Holmes.

Bringing chamber services to business owners like Holmes and helping them embrace the ability of social media sites to increase interaction with existing and potential customers is Volpicella’s goal as the legs and face of “Chamber on the Run.”

The mobile chamber initiative has proven so successful since its October launch, that the organization copyrighted the name.

“It’s completely unique, it’s completely custom and it’s all about their needs,” said Volpicella.

Three days a week, armed with a Spencer Daniels Agency-donated iPad, she hops in her car and drives to chamber members around the county.

She not only helped Holmes set up his page, but also gave him tips for posting, such as ending posts with a question as a way of spurring responses.

“The more interaction from others that you get in a post, it creates a frenzy and it’s going to wind up in everyone’s news feed,” said Volpicella.

Volpicella also showed him how to put links to Facebook and Twitter on Canal Towne’s website. Holmes planned to go live with his page Friday, and post a message Saturday about new Amish items the store is selling.

“We’re very happy,” he said.

Delaware River Restaurant Week – Bon Appetit Show

The Spencer Daniels Agency participated and sponsored the opening day of the Delaware River Valley Restaurant Week.  The kick-off event was held at the Best Western Inn Hunts Landing of Matamoras, PA. The event consisted of an expo of local businesses and local artisan food producers as well as a contest for local chefs.  The main attraction was a live cooking show from Chef Kate of Bon Appetit!

The Spencer Daniels Agency provided a two screen live simulcast for preview, staging and draping for a TV type set design.  It had the look and feel of a real TV show!

Chef Kate was on stage and fabulous. It was a great start to an amazing week of fine dining.

Chamber on the Run Sponsorship

The Spencer Daniels Agency has made the choice to become part of the new wave of technology in local business.  On October 25,  it was officially announced at a press conference at the Monticello Motor Club, that the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce was beginning a cutting edge program and The Spencer Daniels Agency is the major sponsor.  The SDA volunteered to sponsor the program by purchasing a state of the art IPAD for the Chamber’s usage. The program is a traveling resource to local business.
